Faith, Freedom, & Public Schools - addressing the Bible and Christianity without mixing church and state
This professional development seminar is for public school educators and school leaders. It is not about “education theory.” You’ll learn practical ways to appropriately and lawfully include teaching about the Bible and Christianity as it relates to history, culture, and values across the curriculum.
You’ll also learn how the separation of church and state applies and does not apply in schools. You’ll receive the latest updates on federal and state religious liberty issues affecting students and teachers… and more!
About the Speaker
Eric Buehrer, founder & president of Gateways to Better Education
Eric was a public school teacher before founding Gateways to Better Education. He is a published author and nationally recognized authority on the subject of religion and public education. Gateways advocacy for clarity on religious freedom in public schools led to the 2020 updated release of the U.S. Department of Education’s “Guidance on Constitutionally Protected Prayer and Religious Expression in Public Elementary and Secondary Schools.” It had not been updated in 16+ years! In today’s often-contentious climate, the Gateways approach is unique as it emphasizes camaraderie not conflict, and reason not rage.
