5/5/25 - The Pledge is Not a Prayer

Some people argue that saying "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is a form of prayer, therefore it is unconstitutional to have schoolchildren recite it. However, a careful reading of the Pledge reveals that we are not pledging allegiance to God we are pledging allegiance to our republic.

The Pledge then describes the republic as one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. In other words, it acknowledges the Founders' declaration that our freedom comes from God, not the state.

Teaching each phrase of the Pledge of Allegiance will give your students a new appreciation for their country and the importance of being a nation under God.

5/6/25 - God Gave us Liberty

Throughout America's history the American people's freedom -- the freedom of your neighbors, your co-workers, your children, and their teachers, are because we are one nation under God. Take that principle away, remove it from our national consciousness, and we will lose the very basis for the freedoms we so easily take for granted. As Thomas Jefferson warned: "God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?"

In today's war of ideas, people will not defend what they do not cherish, and they will not cherish what they do not understand. It is vital that students learn what it means to be “one nation under God.”

5/7/25 - Choose Reason over Emotion

Today’s culture too often emphasizes emotion over reason. But, living by passions and doing it in the name of freedom has brought bondage to so many people’s lives.

As the Apostle Peter pointed out, “They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.”

Today’s young people are told to find their own truth and follow their hearts. But what they need to hear are the words of Peter as he instructed us how to overcome our passions and live in true freedom. He wrote, “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever.”

5/8/25 - Existentialism & Corruption

Existentialism is a big word and it’s had a big impact on our culture. It’s an idea that claims that there is no real purpose in life. We only exist. The only meaning we can find is in the choices we make. It is the act of choosing, not the result of the choice, that is the moral thing.

To the existentialist, immorality is defined as anything that keeps you from choosing what you desire. But this has a corrupting effect on our society.

John Adams warned us when he wrote, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Real freedom comes from the ability to govern ourselves by God’s standards. You can be a gateway to better education for your children and students. For more resources, visit our HOME PAGE.

5/9/25 - Schools Should not be Factories

Pragmatism is the belief that what is right is defined by utility. If it serves no useful purpose, it is not valuable. Education, then, becomes learning to do, not think. Schools become factories of the State to churn out more productive workers rather than more elevated souls.

Today, we hear calls to teach the whole child, promote anti-drug messages, and promote students’ social and emotional wellbeing. But at the same time, many in our culture laugh at those who recommend a return to our moral roots.

The Christian view of humanity is that we are made in the image of God. The point of education is, then, about righteousness and refinement, not just churning out more productive workers.
