6/2/25 - Think like Jesus

The habit of thinking like Jesus at school will help your children learn with a filter of faith that can guide their hearts and minds.

For example, science is a subject that can test students’ faith. If what they learn in school doesn’t match a biblical worldview, they may question if the whole Bible is true.

Prepare their minds by using the predict and pre-teach method. Predict what they may learn in science lessons about random chance and evolution and then before they encounter it, teach them God’s truth about the topic.

Reassure them with Hebrews 11:3, “By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command.” You can be a gateway to better education for your children and help them think biblically in your public school. For more resources visit our HOME page.

6/3/25 - Intentional Teaching

Preparation is key when it comes to your children’s education. I don’t mean preparing with a pen and paper and a calculator. I mean preparing them to think biblically about what they will be learning.

Here’s an idea: before your children start on their homework, have them read a bible verse that applies to the subject they are learning. This is a simple way to help them connect a biblical worldview to their academic studies. God’s truth applies to everything in life.

And you can prepare for their learning by praying a prayer like this: “Lord, help me teach my children to think biblically about what they are studying at school, so they bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

6/4/25 - Free to Believe

Luke Goodrich has written an excellent book entitled Free to Believe: The Battle over Religious Liberty in America. And I recommend you read it.

Goodrich is an attorney with the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. What I particularly like about his book is that he not only explains the very real threat to religious freedom in America, he also gives strategies that Christians can use to address it.

The next generation of voters are sitting in today’s classrooms. They need to understand the value and benefit of religious freedom so they support it and protect it. Do help make that happen, we’ve launched the National Free to Speak Campaign.

I urge you to join the Cause. You can be a gateway to better education to your children and students. For resources visit our HOME page

6/5/25 - Only One God

Secular Humanism declares there is no God: man is the measure of all things. Education is, then, about learning to live in a world where God either does not exist or is irrelevant.

The Bible declares that there is only one God (Exodus 20:3). One God means one set of rules to live by. But in a world where everyone is their own God, the captain of their own ship, all society is left with is the power of the government. The more we move away from believing that there is a God who sets the rules, the stronger the government must become to protect social order. America’s next generation, who are now in our schools, need to learn this.

6/6/25 - Flag Day is Coming (Part 1)

Flag day is June 14th. “We pledge allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands.” Do your children know what a republic is?

June 14th is a teachable moment. When you raise your flag, recite the pledge and ask your kids if they know what a republic is

A republic is a representative form of government. We don’t vote on every law that gets passed. We vote for people who are supposed to represent us. That’s why we call them public servants. They serve the public.

And, leading up to Independence Day, July 4th, you can have family devotions using the words of America’s Founding Fathers. We’ve written ten lessons quoting men like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. You can download your free copy by visiting GoGateways.org/download.
